上了X2後。教材中有一個"Idioms"的Topic。

很有趣。所以決定把這些Idioms寫上來。

順便當做自己複習 ^^

＊Start out on the wrong foot

＊Right off the bat 預感;馬上

"The first time I met Peggy I knew we had a lot in common, we became
friends right off the bat."

＊Hit it off 一見如故

"I think Dave and Jessica really hit it off well on their date
yesterday. Jessica said they talked for over five hours after dinner."

＊None of your business 不關你的事

"What I do with my friend on the weekends is none of your business,
okay?!"

(這個例句真狠 :p)

＊Have no clue/idea 手足無措;沒有概念

"I have no clue where Green Island is, I just moved to Taiwan two weeks ago."

＊Black Sheep與眾不同;害群之馬

"I have an uncle in Canada who is the black sheep in our family. He tried to take most of the money after my grandfather died."

＊Runs in the family 家族特點

"Everyone in my family lives to an old age, it runs in our family."

＊Take after 與...相似

"Greg must take after his father, they both are stingy with their money."

＊Follow in someone's footsteps 跟著某人的步伐

"It looks like John is going to follow in his father's footsteps by going to Harvard and becoming a doctor."

＊Wear the pants in the family 在家裡掌權的

"Your wife won't let you go out drinking with the boys?! Man! Who wears the pants in the
family?"
